There was a desire for a bigger life, but I couldn’t see a path to get it.
I had to start somewhere. So, I tried Network Marketing.
I had products I loved and was excited to sell, I listened to training after training, read book after book.
But when it came time to actually sell the products and the opportunity… my mind went… blank.
So, I skirted around it. I shared about my life - a literal play by play of everything except what I was selling.
People called it ‘curiosity marketing.’ – Make people so curious about your life that they ask you questions about it, then sell them the offer.
And honestly? They did ask me questions.
About what color I painted my living room walls.
Or if they did ask about my products, I would send the link with a long message of how amazing it was, but no sale.
My dad, Loy Day, was watching me try to make this work. He was a school teacher turned entrepreneur with a similar experience of feeling trapped in his own life. He was desperate to break out and felt a pull to learn sales.
He grew up incredibly poor his whole life. But, thankfully, his family instilled the belief that education was worth investing in. So he did just that.
He spent the next three decades learning and mastering this skill set.
He applied them to many ventures, and landed on insurance.
From growing up as a redneck on a dirt road to now having a beachfront property on Rosemary Beach, he completely transformed himself and - most importantly - our family for generations to come.
This transformation made him wildly passionate about sales skills.
So much so, he had attempted to teach my sister and me since we were in high school.
From bringing workbooks on our family vacations, to playing Denis Waitley on the loudspeakers in the house, to setting up projectors with a sales skill slide show. He had no luck in our willingness to learn.
Until - I felt the pain of wanting a different life, was working towards that life, but lacked momentum.
It hurt. So bad.
And that’s when I was ready to learn.
I went all in - learned a skill, role played with him and then practiced in the real world.
I went from being ashamed to sell to being compassionately direct. I was actually selling. I was selling on instagram, jumping on calls, recruiting people like crazy.
I had the rules to the game. It was so fun.
I didn’t even look at the scoreboard - I was having too much fun playing.
Until - 6 months later, I realized I had my first $10K month.
From working in ministry making $35K a year - that was absolutely mind blowing to me.
That’s when I knew - I had something special. And all I wanted to do was to offer it to the world.
This realization led me to the online course and online marketing world. I knew - this was my life’s assignment. This was my mission.
We started offering this exact sales training to the world.
Enter - Kat Shubert. Here is a snippet of her story -
“I (Kat) always felt it in my bones that I was made for something great. I embarked onto my professional journey as a registered dietitian only to be disappointed by the 9-5 clock-in routine. My dreams of being the TODAY Show dietitian faded before my eyes.
I was persistent, so I pivoted to selling products that had a “no ceiling” type of potential that made my world open up.
Ah, the power of sales. This was going to be great because, well, I knew I was made for something great.
So off on this journey I went, pouring effort and ideas and nervous energy into this thing that would bring in money and fulfillment on my own terms.
But, no matter what I did or how hard I tried the sales plateaued at a measly $200-$1,000 per month MAXIMUM. For 2 years I got the same results.
At that point I, pregnant with my first child, allowed myself to finally say it: “maybe I’m not cut out for this”
I wasn’t one to give up, but something had to give.
And I was right. Something did give.
It wasn’t what I was doing that was wrong, but HOW I was doing it that was wrong.
Three weeks after my baby was born, I became one of Macy’s first students and my world flipped right side up. I FINALLY saw traction, movement.
“This is the real me,” I thought. I was unrecognizable to everyone around me, but to me, I finally felt like myself.
My sales reflected it. A 4x increase in 90 days, top 1% in sales within 8 months, and a $10,000 month in one year.
This life change wasn’t just a sales win, but a life win.
Which is why I knew I had to give it all up to partner with Macy to take these skills, and the Salesgirl mission, to the world.”
Since then - thousands of women have been transformed into salesgirls. They know how to play the game and - let me tell you - they are winning.
